    最近的一次北美之行，我在美国和墨西哥逗留了一周。尽管我并没有计划对这几个国家的价格做任何的市场调查或比较，最后还是不可避免地注意到了价格的差别。这里我将要和你进行分享，而且这些跟瓷砖无关的！

    到一家餐厅就餐的时候，我几乎是马上意识到价格的差异，而当我们（我妻子和小孩）收到账单的时候，我妻子顿时惊呼:这很便宜！比中国便宜多了。

    当然了，大部分时候，你不能随便找不同类别的东西进行比较，因为他们不在同一水平上，这样的分析也难以准确。明白了这些之后，下面我将列举一些不同类别的东西价格，尽量去做一个真实的比较（逐个比较）。

    简单起见，所有的价格以人民币计算：

    1、以岭南新天地的餐厅的食物标准，四个人：中国460人民币；美国380人民币；墨西哥320人民币。

    2、在超市购买几天的食物和日用品：中国1200人民币；美国900人民币；墨西哥700 人民币。

    3、一辆新的中型车比如丰田凯美瑞：中国22万人民币；美国15万人民币；墨西哥18万人民币。

    4、私立小学（1年）：中国7万人民币；美国3万人民币；墨西哥2万人民币。

    5、一条李维斯牛仔裤：中国600人民币；美国260人民币；墨西哥450人民币。

    6、相似地段的房子（公寓）的平方价格：中国1万人民币；美国7000人民币；墨西哥8500人民币。

    7、60分钟的足疗按摩：中国70人民币；美国360人民币；墨西哥280人民币。

    8、办公室初级月薪（为了比较需要，级别相同）：中国2600人民币；美国1万人民币；墨西哥3千人民币。

    中国只在两个类别上低一些，但也许是不应该低的类别：工资和足疗按摩。美国在汽车费用，房屋，服装等方面低一些，而墨西哥在食物和教育方面低一些。

    非常清楚，所以尽管说实话这不是一个专业的调查，但是可以看到中国仍旧在很多劳动密集型的行业比大多数的发达国家更有价廉物美的优势（更低的薪酬），但是在其它的类别里面，正如你所看到的，中国不再便宜了。

    所以，最好的事情是拥有一份美国的工作，居住在墨西哥然后享受中国的按摩！

    In my most recent trip to America I stayed one week in USA and one week in Mexico. It was never part of  the plan or my intention to do any kind of comparison or benchmarking regarding prices, but it was almost inevitable not to notice the differences which I am going to share with you, and these are not related to ceramic tile!

    The first thing that I almost immediately noticed was the difference in pricing when we went to a restaurant. After we (My family wife and kids) received the bill my wife immediately said: That is cheap!! It is a lot less expensive than China.

    Of course most of the time you can’t judge or compare different things because they may not be at the same level and the analysis may not be correct. Understanding that, below I mention a few different things and their pricing trying to do as much as possible a very realistic comparison (apples to apples):

    1. Food in a restaurant same level like Lingnan Tiandi for four people:

    2. Supermarket food and supplies for a few days

    China was only lower in two categories, but maybe the wrong ones: Salary and Foot massage. USA was lower in car cost, housing and clothes and finally Mexico was lower in Food and education.

    It is clear to be honest with you that even though this is not a professional benchmark that China still has the edge on many labor intensive jobs with better costs (lower salaries) with very good quality of labor over many or most developed countries. But in other categories as you can see above China is not cheap anymore!

    So the best thing to have is a USA salary, live in Mexico and get your massages in China!
